Terms of Service

Ferret is a private tool, not offered to the public and not a commercial service. Nobody can sign up: access is limited to addresses named in the deployment's configuration and to people invited from inside the application by somebody who already has an account. Every other sign-in attempt is refused.

The software is open source and anyone may run their own copy. These terms govern the instance you are reading them on and nothing else; another deployment is the responsibility of whoever operates it.

They exist because Google requires published terms for applications requesting Drive access.

Use Ferret lawfully, and specifically respect the terms of the job boards and public APIs it reads. The application retrieves only publicly published job postings from endpoints those employers provide for that purpose, at modest volume.

An account is for the person it was invited for. Accounts can be switched off or removed by an administrator, which deletes the searches belonging to them.

Ferret drafts résumés, cover letters, and research summaries using the Claude API. These are drafts. Language models can be wrong, and research summaries can misread a source.

The application takes deliberate steps against this – résumé bullets must trace to material you supplied, and anything that cannot is discarded before the document is assembled; research documents cite the pages they were built from and record what could not be verified rather than guessing. Even so, every generated document should be read and checked before it is sent to anyone.

Ferret is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, may lose data, and may produce inaccurate results. It is not professional career, legal, or financial advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this instance accepts no liability arising from its use.

These terms may change at any time, with the revision date above updated accordingly. The application may be modified or shut down at any time without notice.
